I had state farm before, I bought a new car and sold the old, state farm was charging me 120$ a month for full coverage and that doesn't include broken windshield. I didn't think of getting a new insurance company had it not been for my state farm agent who kept on ignoring me. I kept on calling him but someone else is answering the phone, he takes my message and tells me my agent would call me back. He never did. I happen to drive by a geico office and decided to inquire. For the same full coverage I had with state farm plus the windshield insurance, they're charging me 90$/mo. That's 360$ savings a year! Plus they gave me some freebies like pens, tumbler and stuff like that. Went to AAA and they said they wont insure me cause my US license is less than 18 months old. They wouldn't Honor my professional drivers license from another country even if I'm 30 yo. Geico on the other hand gave me more discount because of that license and another discount for being a Registered nurse.

The General Insurance Co. advertises their customer service is rated highly…. WRONG – one of their insured vehicle was driven by a drunk driver… left the road way, crossed over on coming traffic, crashed into my parked car, taken to jail by sheriff’s, police report taken. They did nothing to track down their insured to get a report. They would do nothing without a statement from their insured…I personally had to go find their insured which was not hard… I drove to their home. I took with me a document and ask the insured to sign which stated she knew the insured vehicle was driven by her friend, and that she felt her insurance co should honor her policy. Then needless to say had to fight them tooth and nail to get them to pay the claim to replace my car as it was totaled.
I've been with them a year and we have now switched. Our policy had lapsed so we paid the past due, got caught up, and thought we were good. NOPE. Found out in April that my license was suspended! Why? Because the General didn't bother reporting to the state that I was insured! Had to pay to get reinstated. So we have a jeep that stopped working. My husband called to have it dropped. Apparently they dropped my car as well. I just got pulled over earlier for not having insurance! My husband has been paying them. I now have to get my license reinstated AGAIN!

They are the BEST out there! I have gone to different ones and had to come back to them because they are so honest, so friendly and so professional. They are not ripping you off with those 6 month policies and with a bunch of other fees. Do your research... Call around and you will be shocked at how many of those other companies are charging for their premiums (double what Liberty Mutual charges) and then once they get you the first year with somewhat low rates, they hike them back up the second year! Do your research and you will realize that Liberty Mutual is the best all around!
Worst customer service ever this afternoon from The General customer service team. The General made it obvious that our business was not important to their company. I'm appalled at the upcharge they were going to put on our account so that my wife could talk to a representative about the account! However- The General didn't have a problem taking the money out of her account when the bill was due! Ridiculous! Glad we canceled with these idiots, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone!
BTW regarding the wreck- do NOT talk to the other insurance company- the @ fault driver’s insurance company. You’re not required if you have a lawyer. Get a lawyer!! Call them from the hospital if you have to they’ll come to you @ the hospital if you call them there. They’ll even come out to your house. Please don’t let the insurance company screw you. You just want what’s fair & your property covered fairly.
I LOVE USAA! I am surprised it’s not higher on that list. I had Allstate and they never fought for me or my family even though we were paying more than we are paying now. Over where we are at, the speed limit for the highway is 70. There was hardly anyone on the road so my husband drive on the far left since there is a lot of exits in the far right lane. This woman pulled out in the far left lane doing 20. My husband didn’t have time to break because she pulled out right in from God us with no turn signal. But Always was already assuming it was his fault even though they can review the car to see how fast he was going and who was in the wrong. I am glad we dropped them and moved to USAA. They are the best!
It’s all fun and games and think you’re getting a good deal til you’re actually sitting on the side of the road with flat tire in 90 degrees heat, 7pm at night, late for someplace you’re supposed to be at, and this clown-[redacted[ bulls*** company after 40 minutes on hold tells you too bad… yes you purchased roadside assistance for towing coverage but it only covers you if you’re in an accident… not a flat tire. What?? Then gave me 3 different customer service numbers to call a 3rd party company if I wanted an exception. It was much quicker to just call a tow company any pay it out of pocket than spend 2 hours on the phone on side of the road stranded far from home and it’s getting dark. Worst company ever and guilty of fraud.
I love metlife! My brother was driving my car and wrecked it. They were so responsive and proactive. They encouraged him to see a doctor right away, paid all the medical bills promptly, and paid a decent price for my totaled car. They routinely checked up on my brother to make sure he was getting all of the attention he needed. I couldn't believe these guys! THEN my brother hit a building with my truck and did some damage to the building. They again dealt with it promptly and settled with the property owner. They were so available and easy to talk with. They were so nice to me and after these two incidents, they did not raise my rates or anything. Truly, I will never use any other company! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them.
The General provides insurance for high-risk drivers. If you have a hard time finding coverage elsewhere, just being able to obtain insurance may be a big draw. But the cost of such insurance can be steep — and we don’t just mean premiums. Insufficient coverage means that you might end up paying extra for accidents that you’re involved in, not only to cover costs for expenses like medical bills or property damage, but also because The General may not pay out as much as you need for repairs or claims.
Crooks demanding I pay for expired Auto Insurance when I have clicked the cancel my policy button because I found a cheaper yet better insurance company. I call the representative, they said it’s not showing up in our system and they demand I pay $30 or take a hit on my credit score???? [Redacted]!!! I recommend Adriana’s insurance for what you are paying here at least they offer uninsured motorist
After 6 months of coverage they raised my rate from $742 to $1018. I received a bill saying had to pay $820.49 by December 28th 2019 to keep insurance till June 2019. I paid $820.49 on December 27th 2019. Found a better & cheaper policy on January 7th 2019. Called The General to cancel. The customer service rep stated I would get back $45. They charged me $775 for 10 days of insurance. The customer service rep stated NY state approves these practices.
One never really knows how good his or her insurance provider is until disaster strikes. I was broadsided by an SUV that ran a red light. The other driver did not have insurance, and both my wife and I went to the hospital. Allstate's response was compassionate and swift. A few days later all bills were paid. My rates did go up, but the rate hike was well worth the peace of mind I felt. I am sticking with Allstate.

They are ALWAYS there! When I lost control of my new pick up (11 months old) on slick streets, and totaled it in 2007, I was all alone. No one for miles in any direction. I called USAA to let them know what had happened. I was scared and alone, and the representative stayed on the phone with me until someone got to me. I was physically unhurt, but scared. She eased my fear and talked me through everything I needed to do. Gave me sound advice as to where to take the truck. Everything was handled smoothly and quickly. Settlement was swift. I was in a rental car in a matter of a few hours and in new car in a matter of days. We have been with USAA since 1976. We have had three burglary claims with them over the years and every one handled well and payment was swift. They are an honorable company who put their customers FIRST. They are fast, efficient and thorough. I highly recommend USAA to anyone who wants to be treated well!
This company is full of incompetent people. We called them to ask what we need to do to have our insurance renewed, their “worker” said that we don’t need to do anything that because we have automatical payment set up, everything will be done automatically. After two weeks we get notification from MVA to confirm our insurance and to find out that they insurance was not renewed even thought they said they will. When we called them again to ask for explanation all they said that they are sorry that they can not do anything for us. Long story short
One of the General’s insured pulled out in front of us,& we ran right into her! That was June 8, 2018, it took them until Sept 24 to fix our SUV,& they refuse to pay for the rental car!!! [Redacted] said it should’ve only taken 3 days to fix, but the whole front end had to be repaired! She had no idea how long it takes to repair a vehicle,& this is the worst company in the world!!!!
