I have had car insurance for a year with The General. I was involved in an accident where another vehicle ran me off the road. The police could not determine what exactly happened but I was not charged with anything. The General would not file my claim as uninsured motorist, which I can kind of understand but they are now refusing to pay my medical bills as well. Is this even legal? Don't they have to cover my medical expenses?

Now as to Hartford, I have had them for years and claims for uninured motorist on my car ins and for storm damage on my roof due to large hail. Both claims settled satisfactorily. Cost to the company will never be recovered thru cost of my policies. Also policy cost is in line with other large companies but defiantly not cheap. I just received a quote from Liberty Mutual on my car insurance $400 less that Hartford. However the agent seemed reluctant to send me the quote via email. I thought this strange since I wanted to verify the coverage was he same as I have, he said I just reviewed the coverage (via phone call) to which I replied I didn’t record the conversation so please send me an email detailing the cost and coverage, He stated he would but that was a couple hours age and still haven’ heard back. Go figure.

DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE! BEWARE! I got the General Insurance in Feb 2018 and paid $198/month. It was affordable and everything was great UNTIL I HAD AN ACCIDENT in November 2018. The adjuster was RUDE to everyone, including the Auto Body shop, refused to return calls and hung up on people. My claim was then transferred to a 2nd Adjuster mid-process and I NEVER received any calls at all from the 2nd guy. The only communication I got from him was via mail.

I had insurance with The General since 7/12/2016: I switched to Allstate after purchasing a new vehicle and have gotten nothing but grief including them charging me 10% of my policy premium for early cancellation. I was rear-ended in September and The General did not fight for me on the claim side. Instead I kept receiving phone calls from Ashley the adjuster asking me if I was down receiving PT and she closed the claim. Mind you - my son has a kidney transplant 2 weeks after the accident so taking care of myself was not a number 1 priority but him. After cancelling my insurance they asked me for a letter of underwriting. Not too sure what this app is but have emailed them to find out and after 2+ years of being insured I moved and they also raised my insurance for my children who do not drive nor have license for living in my home. Horrible company. Purchaser BEWARE. THEY ARE NOT AND DO NOT FIGHT FOR YOU!

I have been a GEICO customer for about least 15 years. Claims and customer service are not the issue with them. After said years of faithfully paying my insurance on time and renewing each year I accidently back into a car in my driveway. The cars were repaired without incident. However, GEICO penalized me by taking away my good driver discount and increase my monthly insurance rate by nearly $100.00 ; leving a hefty penalty for making a claim. I can’t imagine the money they made off of me during the 15 years I’ve faithfully paid auto insurance. I am hunting for a new auto insurance carrier since GEICO obviously thinks driving is perfect and accidents never happen.

Liberty Mutual just dropped my family because of two claims that were made on my daughters car. She had her car at school freshmen year and It was parked and hit on the rear corner closest to the road. It wasn’t her fault and no one came forward to admit to the accident. She no longer has a car at school, and drives rarely when she’s home. The second accident was when she was pulling out of the carport and her front bumper caught a wooden railing when she was backing out. That was her fault, but an accident. They are a terrible company. They will have you to pay one thing to trick you with them but once your money has processed they will send you a different payment schedule with a different price. The customer service line isn't any better, they don't even try to assist you, they just try to get you off the line. One star is being way too generous they don't even deserve a half of a star.
Worst customer service ever this afternoon from The General customer service team. The General made it obvious that our business was not important to their company. I'm appalled at the upcharge they were going to put on our account so that my wife could talk to a representative about the account! However- The General didn't have a problem taking the money out of her account when the bill was due! Ridiculous! Glad we canceled with these idiots, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone!
I have been with Progressive for over two years, but I keep getting bills with extra charges and if I don't pay they will cancel my coverage. I went on line and checked several other companies, but NO success. When I contacted Nationwide, I ran into a problem doing the on line quote, so I called and talked with an agent. He was extremely helpful, got me three times the coverage, road side service, towing and all at a much lower rate! I'm very thankful with the kindness and the outstanding service, that this man and company showed me and how he made me feel, like my business was important to him and his company. I believe that I'm going to be a very satisfied customer and long time client as well!

Had GEICO in the military, switched to Allstate, for car & house. A "Common Sense" company. They stood behind us for over 2 years of a law suit, because of our good record! Some kids plowed into us with his junk heap, No insurance, No State license, & they were suing for so much, as our agent said: to set themselves up for a "life of Riley"! Great folks who work for them too & Now we get rebates, 2 x a year, for our good driving record!

My agent really took the time to explain or I should say educate me on my policy how to read what each part meant and scenerios of how I was covered if something happened. I ended up paying a little more in premium but the protection I have for myself and my family makes me feel like I'm a celeb. My agent values protecting my family, I also like the fact he calls my house just to see how we are doing. USAA has gone down the tubes, I dont get it, a simple claim recently for auto, turned into a nightmare. bouncing my calls all over the country with a bunch of idiots for claim reps answering the phones, and forcing my car into total loss when it should not have been, and paying only a portion of the damage even though I have collision.
