I have been with Progressive for over two years, but I keep getting bills with extra charges and if I don't pay they will cancel my coverage. I went on line and checked several other companies, but NO success. When I contacted Nationwide, I ran into a problem doing the on line quote, so I called and talked with an agent. He was extremely helpful, got me three times the coverage, road side service, towing and all at a much lower rate! I'm very thankful with the kindness and the outstanding service, that this man and company showed me and how he made me feel, like my business was important to him and his company. I believe that I'm going to be a very satisfied customer and long time client as well!
I love State Farm, they handle all my ins. My car, car loan, my Apt., and my health ins. My old car loan charged me a lot for gap insurance, my SF car loan gives me gap insurance for free, I saved money when I refinance my car with SF. My old insurance was more money, and my coverages were less. My agent explained what I had, and I picked better coverages and pay less. I also like their website. Nice being able to talk to real people 24/7, even in late at night, m and I am traveling, and in other time zones. Great service.
The General also has some red flags when it comes to its financial solvency. While A.M. Best awards an “Excellent” financial strength rating to The General's parent company, American Family Insurance, The General itself isn't rated by agencies like like S&P Global and Moody’s. In fact, it has no ratings of its own — from any agency. The Insurance Information Institute recommends choosing providers with multiple financial strength evaluations, so this complete lack of evaluation gave us pause. While The General may still have the ability to pay out on claims, it isn’t backed with the same confidence as companies with many financial strength ratings.
Do not, I repeat, do not get this coverage. They hide fees from you, make changes without your consent and will keep ALL of your money when you cancel. I got a quote, paid the downpayment and 4 days later found better, cheaper coverage. Contacted the general as I still had required paperwork that needed to be submitted and was told I would get a full refund. I got $15 back out of my $296 payment. For 13 days of coverage (because that's when they finally canceled a policy.) If this isn't a scam, I dont know what is. My policy that I received never said anything in regards to fees to cancel but my original paperwork said short rate basis, which to them is a fee. AGAIN, my policy said nothing about a FEE in the cancellation section or anywhere else. They play on words and semantics. Customer service is rude and they talk over you. Shaq has put himself with a horrible company.

AARP (The Hartford group) save me over $600.00 a year on my home and Auto insurance. I was with Liberty Mutual for around 15 years and never had any claims. But they would not lower my premiums. The old proverbial straw was, this year they raised the rates on us again. So see ya later for sure. They do not appreciate their loyal good customers. Don't buy from them unless you like to give money away.

I had Allstate for over 20 years and it just kept going up. I would contact my agent to see if anything could be saved and they would adjust it slightly each year, but it was over $200 per month and I had a perfect driving record, and my vehicles were getting older and older. Finally I was fed up and got quotes from nearly a dozen insurers and Esurance beat them all, lowering my payments by more than HALF! Now I'm worried, though, since Allstate has now purchased Esurance. Will my rates start to go up and up again? Time will tell.
Best kept secret in auto insurance. The people are friendly and genuine, very helpful. Grange does not raise your rates just because a deer jumps in front of your brand new car four months after signing up. An insurance company that sticks with me after paying my $8,300 auto body repair bill without raising my rates has earned my business and my trust for a long time!
Been with them for a year, online it says you can change your due date once for FREE. Yet every time I try and change it, they want to charge me. Then they tell me I have 15 days grace period which is a damn lie. I pay the night before the so called lapse is going to take place, and yet they still lapse me. EVERY SINGLE MONTH!!! I try to talk to a supervisor but the little employees make up all kinds of excuses not to let you talk to supervisors. This is the most irresponsible and unprofessional insurance agency I have dealt with in my 53 years of driving. Thank goodness, I havent had to have them do a claim for me that would probably never get taken care of. I highly recommend avoiding The General Car Insurance. I will be moving to Geico or Progressive.

I've had State Farm my whole life and they have always done right by me. On April 10, 2009 my home was destroyed by a tornado. Amidst all the turmoil, the traffic, and the inability to call anyone... I was finally able to reach my agent around midnight to report my claim. The next morning I went to the location of my destroyed home around 8 am to find my agent was already there with a check in hand to keep me on my feet. My agent and claims team found me a town home to stay in, fully furnished it with supplies and furniture, and allowed me to stay there until the construction on my new home was complete. All the while, tending to my every need and resolving any complications or worries I had very quickly.
I have requested the SR22 filing online and in person for 3 months. They could not understand what happened and I can’t understand why I had to pay extra money to the live agent for the SR22 filing, they have half of my California DL# and the other half is half of my AZ DL #. I now lost my position in a school for truck driver training, lost my license-suspended for not having the filing, and right back where I started before we got The General in the first place. I’m calling and contacting the local news and every organization that will bring out the truth about them.. Its included in the new lawsuit!

When I talked to the employees at 21st Century Insurance, they don't talk at me, they talk to me just like they would any other person. They look past the bottom line dollar signs and see me as an individual; a lot of insurance companies today can't seem to deliver that. I think it's obnoxious when a company becomes so big that they don't treat the customers as people anymore or when companies become so large that the employees become impersonal and arrogant. So far, I've not encountered this with 21st Century Insurance and that, my friends, leaves me a satisfied customer!
ALTHO they did not give me discounts, at least they did not charge an arm and a LEG after my one accident. Mercury has been faithful and very helpful when I am a couple days late on payment. DARN ALLSTATE! They paid the other party over and over and over, even though the damage to my fender was worse, they only had a slight tap on rear end, but got FULL VALUE for their 'destroyed' car, and all 5 occupants got PT and chiropractic visits 3x each. I WAS ANGRY! They were not injured, and the car was repairable. But Mercury came through and gave me a good deal for the upcoming years!

I was tired of my insurance payments going up and up and up, so thought it was time to start shopping for new insurance. I had tried over the Internet before but hadn't a clue what I was doing, so I just gave up. I had my previous insurance elsewhere and came to find out I was paying way, way too much. I am saving $750. 00 a year by switching to Esurance! I could not believe it! I immediately started the process of switching, and I am now a new Esurance customer and a very happy one! Today, I received my policy and cards via email just as promised and am glad I switched!

I was in an automobile accident on 12/27/17. Hit in a parking lot by a girl doing about 50, insured by Permanent General. The accident was 100% her fault as admitted by everybody involved. I submitted a claim to her insurance company and was given an adjusted named {Redacted]. Permanent General then proceeded to have my car towed to a salvage yard one hour and 20 minutes away from where it was. This company [Redacted] lost my only set of car keys. This lost keys delayed my auto body shop from estimating my vehicle. A new set of keys had to be created and a locksmith had to re-key my car. The General had the nerve to blame this delay on the auto body shop and ordered me to return my rental car before any repairs were even authorized to be completed. I left 3 voicemail messages for [Redacted]’s supervisor [Redacted] in regards to needing a rental vehicle until my vehicle was repaired. She did not return one of my phone calls. I did not get to speak to her until I called the claims line and refused to be put into voicemail and held for 25 minutes. Her response was to bad for me. Again they went back and forth on repairs until Friday 1/26, 30 days after my accident, when [Redacted] stated that they would not be paying any repairs and I would have to subjugate through my insurance company. Do not use this company for your insurance. Go through Statefarm, Geico, one of the real insurance companies. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, horrible customer service and these people just do not care. If you get jerked around from this company as I have, submit a complaint through the BBB and through Division of Finance. Maybe with enough complaints, we can put this company out of business. I have now filed a claim with my insurance company.

After 6 months of coverage they raised my rate from $742 to $1018. I received a bill saying had to pay $820.49 by December 28th 2019 to keep insurance till June 2019. I paid $820.49 on December 27th 2019. Found a better & cheaper policy on January 7th 2019. Called The General to cancel. The customer service rep stated I would get back $45. They charged me $775 for 10 days of insurance. The customer service rep stated NY state approves these practices.
I was with Liberty Mutual for about 15 years and was very satisfied with their prices and service, although I never filed a claim. When I retired and moved from California to Florida, my auto rate went up a ridiculous amount, to almost $10,000 a year even though I had no accidents and one minor moving violation in the last ten years. On top of that, Liberty Mutual screwed up my umbrella policy and told me it was “unenforceable,” whatever that means, but I had to pay for the policy anyway up to the time I canceled and switched to Progressive, which cost about one third the cost of Liberty Mutual for an identical policy. Even good companies change over time.
I've been with them a year and we have now switched. Our policy had lapsed so we paid the past due, got caught up, and thought we were good. NOPE. Found out in April that my license was suspended! Why? Because the General didn't bother reporting to the state that I was insured! Had to pay to get reinstated. So we have a jeep that stopped working. My husband called to have it dropped. Apparently they dropped my car as well. I just got pulled over earlier for not having insurance! My husband has been paying them. I now have to get my license reinstated AGAIN!
Liberty Mutual just dropped my family because of two claims that were made on my daughters car. She had her car at school freshmen year and It was parked and hit on the rear corner closest to the road. It wasn’t her fault and no one came forward to admit to the accident. She no longer has a car at school, and drives rarely when she’s home. The second accident was when she was pulling out of the carport and her front bumper caught a wooden railing when she was backing out. That was her fault, but an accident. Isn’t that why we have insurance????? Before I got this letter from Liberty mutual, I sang their praises. I will loudly have bad things to say from now on. Don’t count on Liberty Mutual
