They did nothing to track down their insured to get a report. They would do nothing without a statement from their insured…I personally had to go find their insured which was not hard… I drove to their home. I took with me a document and ask the insured to sign which stated she knew the insured vehicle was driven by her friend, and that she felt her insurance co should honor her policy. Then needless to say had to fight them tooth and nail to get them to pay the claim to replace my car as it was totaled.
Switching to Amica from State Farm because I reviewed my State Farm policy and found that they are no longer paying to return my vehicle to "pre-loss" condition, and instead they are only paying for what is competative in the market area. I have been with State Farm for over 12 years, and recently read my policy booklet, and found this out. Based on the way State Farm's auto policies read I am very unhappy. State Farm gets to dictate what is competative in the market area, and because the majority of the shops in my area are not good shops, State Farm will not pay to have my vehicle repaired properly because it isn't competative in the market area as my policy reads. This also means that if I hit someone and they take their vehicle to a quality shop and State Farm does not pay for the cost to repair the other party's vehicle properly, then I can be sued by the person I hit. I have had a pretty positive experience with this company until I went to renew my 3 car tags just to find out that the registration lady have been cancelled due to non verification of insurance. I call numerous times only to get an incompetent person to send me the Letter of Experience instead of The State of Alabama Tag office. In total I called 12 times and I received 12 letters that weren’t even supposed to be sent to me. Since I couldn’t get my insurance company to verify, even though I had all the proof, I received a fine of $200 per car plus the cost of my tags.

I was in an automobile accident on 12/27/17. Hit in a parking lot by a girl doing about 50, insured by Permanent General. The accident was 100% her fault as admitted by everybody involved. I submitted a claim to her insurance company and was given an adjusted named {Redacted]. Permanent General then proceeded to have my car towed to a salvage yard one hour and 20 minutes away from where it was. This company [Redacted] lost my only set of car keys. This lost keys delayed my auto body shop from estimating my vehicle. A new set of keys had to be created and a locksmith had to re-key my car. The General had the nerve to blame this delay on the auto body shop and ordered me to return my rental car before any repairs were even authorized to be completed. I left 3 voicemail messages for [Redacted]’s supervisor [Redacted] in regards to needing a rental vehicle until my vehicle was repaired. She did not return one of my phone calls. I did not get to speak to her until I called the claims line and refused to be put into voicemail and held for 25 minutes. Her response was to bad for me. Again they went back and forth on repairs until Friday 1/26, 30 days after my accident, when [Redacted] stated that they would not be paying any repairs and I would have to subjugate through my insurance company. Do not use this company for your insurance. Go through Statefarm, Geico, one of the real insurance companies. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, horrible customer service and these people just do not care. If you get jerked around from this company as I have, submit a complaint through the BBB and through Division of Finance. Maybe with enough complaints, we can put this company out of business. I have now filed a claim with my insurance company.
I have had Insurance with The General since July 25 of 2018. My problems with them came over Thanksgiving weekend of this year. I made my premium payment on the website on a Saturday and later that evening I was on the website and I accidentally made another payment and there was no way to cancel it, and since it was a non business day I had to wait till Monday to contact them. I contacted them on Monday to explain what happened and asked them to cancel that additional payment and they informed me that they cannot cancel the payment and I have to go to my bank and stop the payment. I did just as they told me to do, however the next day both payments attempted to clear the bank. One was rejected cause of the stopped payment with the fee for that the payment that was supposed to clear did not so that payment was returned as well.
They are a terrible company. They will have you to pay one thing to trick you with them but once your money has processed they will send you a different payment schedule with a different price. The customer service line isn't any better, they don't even try to assist you, they just try to get you off the line. One star is being way too generous they don't even deserve a half of a star.
I was with AAA for the longest time in my life, promised to lower my premium, but when it was time to put out they said that's our best price for 2 cars and my home around 2k. I called AARP ( Hartford insurance) and they gave me a price of $1,200 LOTS of savings for the same coverage. Then I had one car left and wanted a price from AAA $3,200 just for 1 car and Hartford $740. Are these insurance for real! Apparently only Hartford is not greedy FOR THE SAME COVERAGE. When I had an accident about 5 months ago (not my fault) State Farm had a max coverage of 25K in Vegas ( you guys watch out for this) was told to get the initial sum from Hartford -NO PROBLEM very nice and followed up all my problems. My advice all you 50 year olds try and contact Hartford and ask, you have nothing to lose.
USAA use to be a reputable company however in pass years their level in integrity customer service has declined tremendously. Lack of due diligence poor laziness. I am so ashamed for them. I have been a member for over 12 years no more. I am in the process of moving all my accounts and severing all ties. Yes it is that bad. It is time consuming but 200% necessary unfortunately. I love GEICO, they have EXCELLENT customer service! They are always great, they're always so personal, they are always there to help all day and night and weekends and you don't have to worry about someone being on vacation or sick because there's always more and great agents there to help. Plus they work with other outside companies and you can get discounts other places just for being with them. I just wanted to say I think GEICO is worth calling and getting a quote if you don't already have a policy.
I've dealt with them on two homeowner claims (for my grandmother) and three auto claims (a $68k uninsured motorist claim and a broken windshield claim on my cars and my mom's car after she hit a deer). These claims have spanned the last nine years and each one was handled with a high level of professionalism, but also with decency, kindness and compassion. They are truly an honest company that pays the claims they owe quickly and fairly. When I was injured by the uninsured motorist in 2010, the first thing my attorney said when he saw that I had A-O was "you have nothing to worry about, they will take care of you."

Grange does not raise your rates just because a deer jumps in front of your brand new car four months after signing up. I just saved about $400 dollars a year by switching to AAA from State Farm. The coverage for my cars is the same and the coverage for my home is much better (and cheaper) than before. I have a credit card through AAA, roadside assistance through AAA and finally, my insurance through AAA. I could not be happier. On all fronts, AAA has the best customer service I've ever encountered.

Best Insurance Company I've ever had. They may not be the cheapest but if you rate your insurance companies on price I hope you never have a claim. You will be shaken to the core to see what the cheap guys do when you have a claim. With American Family we called Russ our agent and his staff helps us through the whole process. When we talked to the claim adjuster he was very informative and worked with us. Our car was totaled. It was an older car but it was my daughter's grandmother's car and had less the 10000 miles on the 7 year old car. The adjuster came back with an amount I felt was low. He showed me how he came up with the value. I told him the car was truly worth more then the average excellent condition 1993. He talked to our mechanic and the the body shop guys to get their input to the condition of the car. He increased the offer by 33%. He had to get approval from the company to do this. I have been a GEICO customer for about least 15 years. Claims and customer service are not the issue with them. After said years of faithfully paying my insurance on time and renewing each year I accidently back into a car in my driveway. The cars were repaired without incident. However, GEICO penalized me by taking away my good driver discount and increase my monthly insurance rate by nearly $100.00 ; leving a hefty penalty for making a claim. I can’t imagine the money they made off of me during the 15 years I’ve faithfully paid auto insurance. I am hunting for a new auto insurance carrier since GEICO obviously thinks driving is perfect and accidents never happen.

My daughters parked car was hit, from a claimant from General who failed to report it. It took approximately 20 phone calls and multiple emails and texts to get the ball moving to get a claim submitted. After the car was looked at by an adjuster a estimate was submitted. After reviewing the estimate General slashed the estimate in half ( took off $1,100 dollars). They attempted to use sub-standard parts to make the repair. Needless to say this was by far the worst experience that I have ever had with an insurance company. I pray that I never have to deal with General again.
