Had GEICO in the military, switched to Allstate, for car & house. A "Common Sense" company. They stood behind us for over 2 years of a law suit, because of our good record! Some kids plowed into us with his junk heap, No insurance, No State license, & they were suing for so much, as our agent said: to set themselves up for a "life of Riley"! Great folks who work for them too & Now we get rebates, 2 x a year, for our good driving record!

The customer service line isn't any better, they don't even try to assist you, they just try to get you off the line. One star is being way too generous they don't even deserve a half of a star.

My car was blown up by someone who has not been arrested yet. It has been 2 months and the general has not finished the claim still! I have asked them many times to give me another adjustment or to have another person look at it because I purchased a car a year ago for 31k and they are estimating the value at 18k which is way too low. They won’t prove that they have my actual model number which is the souped-up version with 6 grand in added equipment compared to the basic version of my model. (2016 optima EX) They refuse to do another adjustment, they refuse to fix my bill as they said they would by my due date which was the (17th of July) and now it has not been done and I am over a week late because they will not adjust it to the amount it should be without my car on it. They refuse to pay me for my car seat involved because it doesn’t (look damaged in the photo I sent) they are acting like they don’t know it’s illegal to ever be used in a car again. My wife’s car was never to be removed and they did it without my permission and they would not add it without increasing my bill. They then gave me an SR22 proving its back on but my policy states it’s still not on there. Also, I emailed them on the 16th of July demanding to close my policy because of this incident and they told me they are not letting me go until I prove I have other coverage. Is this something you can help with? It is beyond frustrating. I have also sent MANY MANY emails to my adjuster with ZERO help and ZERO replies. She’s ignoring everything I’ve said above and now refuses to give me her supervisors name or number or email. Also, she was supposed to contact my finance company to settle an amount on the car and it’s been over 2 weeks with her refusing to do so, now dinging my credit and my co-signers. I’m flabbergasted by this awful behavior and I need help pursuing legal action against them.

But the general refuses to pay for damages, knowing that the person was at fault. They won’t call you back. They send random contractors out. They do everything in there power to not pay for the damage, even if their claimant is clearly in the wrong. They will keep saying its pending. Knowing they have the information to proceed. Representatives are very rude. They will try everything to make you be liable. I was left without a car and having to fight hard just to get repairs.
My daughters parked car was hit, from a claimant from General who failed to report it. It took approximately 20 phone calls and multiple emails and texts to get the ball moving to get a claim submitted. After the car was looked at by an adjuster a estimate was submitted. After reviewing the estimate General slashed the estimate in half ( took off $1,100 dollars). They attempted to use sub-standard parts to make the repair. Needless to say this was by far the worst experience that I have ever had with an insurance company. I pray that I never have to deal with General again. I love metlife! My brother was driving my car and wrecked it. They were so responsive and proactive. They encouraged him to see a doctor right away, paid all the medical bills promptly, and paid a decent price for my totaled car. They routinely checked up on my brother to make sure he was getting all of the attention he needed. I couldn't believe these guys! THEN my brother hit a building with my truck and did some damage to the building. They again dealt with it promptly and settled with the property owner. They were so available and easy to talk with. They were so nice to me and after these two incidents, they did not raise my rates or anything. Truly, I will never use any other company! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them.
When I talked to the employees at 21st Century Insurance, they don't talk at me, they talk to me just like they would any other person. They look past the bottom line dollar signs and see me as an individual; a lot of insurance companies today can't seem to deliver that. I think it's obnoxious when a company becomes so big that they don't treat the customers as people anymore or when companies become so large that the employees become impersonal and arrogant. So far, I've not encountered this with 21st Century Insurance and that, my friends, leaves me a satisfied customer!
I wish that happened to me. It’s been 2 months and they REFUSE to pay me for my car seat, or my registration fees, and they won’t prove they have the right model and are trying to lowball me by 6 grand under what it’s worth and refuse to give me a second adjustment and are ignoring every email I send! They have given me 3 adjusters and also refuse to let me speak to a supervisor! They also removed my wife’s car without permission, won’t cancel my policy, and won’t retroactivate the bill for the date that SOMEONE BLEW MY CAR UP WITH A BOMB! I’m livid and I’m begging you all to STAY AWAY FROM THIS GOD AWFUL COMPANY! I’m pursuing legal action and they deserve to be out of business!
Hi Eric – What you’ve seen is not an unusual situation. A company that’s good in one state isn’t in another. Liberty Mutual worked for you in California, but not in Florida. This is why it’s not possible to say one company is the best. That will vary by state and by your own personal profile. Do not get this coverage. They hide fees from you, make changes without your consent and will keep ALL of your money when you cancel. They have also falsified communications - no verbal contact with me occurred, yet in the system I spoke to their representative twice. I got a quote, paid the whole amount the same day. General increased the premium 3 weeks later saying they did receive the document they need. If this isn't a scam, I don't know what is!

I have been with Progressive for over two years, but I keep getting bills with extra charges and if I don't pay they will cancel my coverage. I went on line and checked several other companies, but NO success. When I contacted Nationwide, I ran into a problem doing the on line quote, so I called and talked with an agent. He was extremely helpful, got me three times the coverage, road side service, towing and all at a much lower rate! I'm very thankful with the kindness and the outstanding service, that this man and company showed me and how he made me feel, like my business was important to him and his company. I believe that I'm going to be a very satisfied customer and long time client as well!
I got insurance through them however it said my credit card was declined. This was the 2nd attempt I had tried so I decided to stop trying and went with another broker. The General ended up charging my card and I called multiple times and a lady told me to email underwriting so I did. She said it took 1-2 working days. After 2 working days I called back and spoke with so many different people and they all said they'd get a manager to call me back AND NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. Finally had 1 manager KELVIN ** & he hung up on me!!!

I was with Liberty Mutual for about 15 years and was very satisfied with their prices and service, although I never filed a claim. When I retired and moved from California to Florida, my auto rate went up a ridiculous amount, to almost $10,000 a year even though I had no accidents and one minor moving violation in the last ten years. On top of that, Liberty Mutual screwed up my umbrella policy and told me it was “unenforceable,” whatever that means, but I had to pay for the policy anyway up to the time I canceled and switched to Progressive, which cost about one third the cost of Liberty Mutual for an identical policy. Even good companies change over time.
