My daughters parked car was hit, from a claimant from General who failed to report it. It took approximately 20 phone calls and multiple emails and texts to get the ball moving to get a claim submitted. After the car was looked at by an adjuster a estimate was submitted. After reviewing the estimate General slashed the estimate in half ( took off $1,100 dollars). They attempted to use sub-standard parts to make the repair. Needless to say this was by far the worst experience that I have ever had with an insurance company. I pray that I never have to deal with General again. Signed , an extremely frustrated and irritated car owner. This was truly a hellish experience!

It has been over a month since my accident. I had a woman back into my parked car with her car. We called the police, but since it was in a Dollar General parking lot it was considered private property. I got all the driver's info and took pictures. I filed my claim that night and they sent an insurance adjuster out who took pictures and even they said they saw the damage. Now it's been over a month and just yesterday they had some twerp call me to say that there wasn't enough evidence. What he meant was unless you want to go thru the trouble suing us we aren't paying for anything. I've never dealt with such freaking crooks/scam artists. I hope they all rot in hell.

After I switched to Progressive I got into a car accident. I did not know exactly what I needed to do, but the people at progressive helped me the entire way. All I had to do was choose where I wanted to have my car repaired and they did the rest. Since I used one if the shops they referred I had my car back in less than a week. Quick and painless, all I had to do was make a call.

I was with AAA for the longest time in my life, promised to lower my premium, but when it was time to put out they said that's our best price for 2 cars and my home around 2k. I called AARP ( Hartford insurance) and they gave me a price of $1,200 LOTS of savings for the same coverage. Then I had one car left and wanted a price from AAA $3,200 just for 1 car and Hartford $740. Are these insurance for real! Apparently only Hartford is not greedy FOR THE SAME COVERAGE. When I had an accident about 5 months ago (not my fault) State Farm had a max coverage of 25K in Vegas ( you guys watch out for this) was told to get the initial sum from Hartford -NO PROBLEM very nice and followed up all my problems. My advice all you 50 year olds try and contact Hartford and ask, you have nothing to lose.

Switching to Amica from State Farm because I reviewed my State Farm policy and found that they are no longer paying to return my vehicle to "pre-loss" condition, and instead they are only paying for what is competative in the market area. I have been with State Farm for over 12 years, and recently read my policy booklet, and found this out. Based on the way State Farm's auto policies read I am very unhappy. State Farm gets to dictate what is competative in the market area, and because the majority of the shops in my area are not good shops, State Farm will not pay to have my vehicle repaired properly because it isn't competative in the market area as my policy reads. This also means that if I hit someone and they take their vehicle to a quality shop and State Farm does not pay for the cost to repair the other party's vehicle properly, then I can be sued by the person I hit. I've dealt with them on two homeowner claims (for my grandmother) and three auto claims (a $68k uninsured motorist claim and a broken windshield claim on my cars and my mom's car after she hit a deer). These claims have spanned the last nine years and each one was handled with a high level of professionalism, but also with decency, kindness and compassion. They are truly an honest company that pays the claims they owe quickly and fairly. When I was injured by the uninsured motorist in 2010, the first thing my attorney said when he saw that I had A-O was "you have nothing to worry about, they will take care of you."
The General Insurance Co. advertises their customer service is rated highly…. WRONG – one of their insured vehicle was driven by a drunk driver… left the road way, crossed over on coming traffic, crashed into my parked car, taken to jail by sheriff’s, police report taken. They did nothing to track down their insured to get a report. They would do nothing without a statement from their insured…I personally had to go find their insured which was not hard… I drove to their home. I took with me a document and ask the insured to sign which stated she knew the insured vehicle was driven by her friend, and that she felt her insurance co should honor her policy. Then needless to say had to fight them tooth and nail to get them to pay the claim to replace my car as it was totaled.
Now as to Hartford, I have had them for years and claims for uninured motorist on my car ins and for storm damage on my roof due to large hail. Both claims settled satisfactorily. Cost to the company will never be recovered thru cost of my policies. Also policy cost is in line with other large companies but defiantly not cheap. I just received a quote from Liberty Mutual on my car insurance $400 less that Hartford. However the agent seemed reluctant to send me the quote via email. I thought this strange since I wanted to verify the coverage was he same as I have, he said I just reviewed the coverage (via phone call) to which I replied I didn’t record the conversation so please send me an email detailing the cost and coverage, He stated he would but that was a couple hours age and still haven’ heard back. Go figure.
I do not have any at fault claims on my insurance history. I have auto withdraw for my payments. I got The General because I bought my current vehicle at night late and the general allowed me to get the insurance online right away. I have had Geico in the past and I was going to go back to them before the next month bill came due. Well I'm going through a divorce and at that time he was making life difficult so I didn't get around to it. My oldest son moved back in with me so we just put him and his car on my insurance. I figured I would just change insurance back to Geico when he moved out. Well last weekend my son got into an accident. I'm not happy with the claims department and their process. Today I decided that I'm not happy with this company so now would be a good time to go back to Geico.

Now flash forward present day. Last month I had a wreck. It was not my fault. I called USAA to get my rental covered because the cop wouldn’t give me the @ fault driver’s info said I had to wait for the police report. USAA informs me that I don’t have rental. Excuse me 3 months ago when I added collision I told you add rental & you said you would. USAA claims I did not tell them that, but I know I did because Roadside made it but not rental? Now mind you my Escalade is totalled. The frame is warped among many other things. I’m not @ fault & USAA (my own insurance company) tries to screw me? (The @ fault driver’s insurance company is someone I’ve never heard of but it’s not USAA) The adjustor says not totalled we’ll settle for 10Gs…. no I’m not settling for 10Gs on 50G+ truck especially with a warped frame NO WAY!! I’ve lost major retail value & nobody will buy it with the carfax that’s attached to it now.

USAA use to be a reputable company however in pass years their level in integrity customer service has declined tremendously. Lack of due diligence poor laziness. I am so ashamed for them. I have been a member for over 12 years no more. I am in the process of moving all my accounts and severing all ties. Yes it is that bad. It is time consuming but 200% necessary unfortunately. One of the General’s insured pulled out in front of us,& we ran right into her! That was June 8, 2018, it took them until Sept 24 to fix our SUV,& they refuse to pay for the rental car!!! [Redacted] said it should’ve only taken 3 days to fix, but the whole front end had to be repaired! She had no idea how long it takes to repair a vehicle,& this is the worst company in the world!!!!
